My new bedroom

Hello lovelies! I'm very behind on this post, it has been in my blogging schedule for quite a while now. I moved house in March, which means a new bedroom and of course a new bedroom tour. My old bedroom tour, which you can see here, was one of my most popular posts EVER - so it made sense to do an updated one. It also featured my baby cat Molly :( I miss her so much! I'm sure most of you are very nosy as am I, I love having a peek into people's homes and bedrooms - I love seeing how they reflect their personal style through paint, furniture and decorations.

I was lucky enough to have use of two rooms, so the "spare room" has become my dressing room (or dumping ground for my mountains of clothes). But, I thought since it is super tidy at the moment it would be the perfect opportunity to take some photos. Before I moved in I knew I wanted a completely white room - floors included. I decided to paint the original floorboards white in my dressing room, and (some think it's a stupid idea) get fluffy white carpet in my bedroom. Typically, my boyfriend thought it would be ok to drink coffee in my NO DRINKS & NO FOOD zone, and of course, he spilled it four days after my new white fluffy beautiful clean carpet was put in. Obviously. I forgave him eventually... I can't say I haven't spilled anything since then.

Most items were bought on the cheap, showing you don't need lots of money to have a lovely bedroom/house! The 1950's dressing table above was a bargain I found in a furniture charity shop for £25. I love the contrast of brown wood in white rooms.

This mirror is probably my favourite piece of furniture. It's originally Ikea but I picked it up at a car boot sale about.. 7 years ago? for just £20. I know i've had it a loooong time anyway. I was SO releived that it fit in my new room (with about 1cm to spare) cos the ceilings are super low. I had to leave my old beautiful glass shoe cupboard behind, which I shed a tear for. The hat stand is also from a car boot sale - I think my mum picked it up for about a tenner. It's covered in hats I never wear.
On the mannequin is a current project of mine - I had 2 metres of rainbow sequin fabric left over from my graduate collection (which I will be blogging about btw) and thought "what could I possibly make that would leave no waste?" - a crazy floor length coat of course! I'll probably debut this badboy at London Fashion Week next week. The rail (from Dunelm) has become my "new in" rail - constantly being updated of course, covered in "MUST BLOG ASAP" clothes. Once worn they depart in to my big built in wardrobe, which is very handy. And white. Perfect.

My boyfriend met my parents for the first time when we moved, which as a handy man, meant he was lumbered with jobs. He must have been like "what have I got myself in for?!" - for a few weeks he couldn't come round without being made to put up a mirror here, a knife rack there. Soz Oliver. I got him to put a rail high up on the end of my wardrobe, which was the most perfect spot for all my maxi dresses.

The gold mirror is another favourite item of mine. I bagged it at a car boot sale for £5 a few years ago. The detailing on the edge makes perfect hooks to hang necklaces on.
On the wall... my Cosmopolitan blog awards which I am very proud of, and some illustrations from the awards which are super cute. I seem to bang in these tiny little nails all over the place, they're perfect for hanging jewellery on.

On to the actual bedroom...
I picked up that 2x2 shelf in a charity shop for just £8 and it's exactly like the Ikea Expedit, which I had in 4x4 in my old room. The Ikea baskets also fit perfectly in. One of them is "Oliver's draw" - that means we must be serious. Ha. The big clock is again Ikea.

As you can see I still have the same cushions on my bed from my old room - I love them still. The fluffy one is from Matalan and the rest are Ikea, the best place on earth. My second home pretty much. The duvet cover and green blanket are Ikea, and the beautiful patchwork quilt was made by my super talented mummy. Isn't it beautiful?
You'll probably recognise this heart shaped "thing holder" from my old room. I picked up another one from a bootsale for £1 - I love them! They look really cute and hold so many photos, and have also become the storage solution to my sunglasses addiction.
This mirror has been in the family for years, we have a garage full of furniture that has come and gone from mine and my mum's bedrooms. We love to buy old furniture and revamp it with a lick of paint, and even if it retires from our house for a while, we know that one day it will come in handy. I found this mirror in the garage and had to have it in my new all-white room! One thing I love is fresh white paint with green plants. I bought this ivy (from Ikea obvs) as a baby and it is slowly creeping down my shabby chic chest of drawers, looking all pretty and cute. I should probably water it though, I think it's half dead. Oops.

I made the pom-pom garland because, well i'm addicted to making pom-poms. The Ibiza wall hanging is a beautiful handmade piece I bought from the hippy market when I went on holiday there this summer.
And finally, the view out of my new window is lovely. My groundsman dad takes great pride in striping the grass opposite.

Hope you enjoyed and leave feeling a little bit inspired! My room is my little haven, I love spending time in here especially when it's nice and tidy.
