MY DAILY FACE

I am constantly asked "what foundation do you use?" "how do you do your eyebrows?" "what lipstick is this?" - so thought i'd go through step-by-step, my daily make-up routine.
I have been using the same foundation for a few years now, having gone through about 6 bottles of my favourite. My number 1 foundation absolutely has to be Rimmel Wake Me Up. It feels really fresh and light and provides amazing coverage. I've tried many many foundations - Mac studio fix fluid, Estee Lauder double wear (both of which I found ridiculously thick), and lots of other high street brands, but have always gone back to my fave. I'd recommend it to anyone!

I don't believe a daily make-up routine should consist of painting your face in every possible bit of make-up - I rarely wear eyeshadow, stay far away from blusher and don't even feel primer is necessary unless i'm going "out out". I keep my look very simple and have used this exact look for years.
I definitely think good brushes play a role in how good your foundation can look. I am told quite often "your foundation looks flawless" (thank you!) and it's all down to the way I apply it. I definitely wouldn't recommend using your fingers, I just find it quite dirty (OCD hand germ freak) and in my experience has always left my face patchy. I highly recommend the Real Techniques brushes - I own nearly all of them and think they're some of the best available at really good prices.

I start by applying Mac's pro longwear concealer in NC15 under my eyes and on my eyelids, and blend in just slightly with my ring finger, before applying Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation in soft beige (depending on whether i'm wearing fake tan or not). Then using the Real Techniques expert face brush, I blend my foundation all over my face and into/over my concealer.

Over this I use a tiny bit of Collection sheer loose powder just to set it lightly (not too much or it can appear quite cakey) using the Real Techniques powder brush. On to my favourite bronzer of all time - Benefit Hoola. I use the Real Techniques contour brush to apply it under my cheekbones, on my temples and on my jawline, then blend out lightly with the powder brush.
A huge thing for me is EYEBROWS. I'm obsessed with eyebrows, I love a good pair of eyebrows. Remember they aren't twins, they're sisters - they don't need to be perfectly matching. I have used a few different products over the years - one i'd definitely recommend is Benefit Brow Zings, however for the last year i've been using the HD Brows palette in Vamp. My natural brows are pretty non-existant, they literally do not grow. I haven't even plucked them since I was 15 and thought chavtastic thin brows were a good look. Oh dear.

I like to fill them in quite arched, darker than my hair and also extend them inwards as my natural brows are way too far apart. It's taken years of practise to get the perfect brow shape but i'm pretty happy with how I have them at the moment. I think brows are the most important part of your make-up routine. They frame the face and without a strong brow, the whole look can be ruined!
Moving on to eye make-up, I keep it as simple as possible. I have been doing the same cat eye look using the same product since I was 15 and I still love it. I watch a lot of make-up tutorials, using loads of products and blending tonnes of eyeshadows together, but personally I would only ever do this for a fancy night out as I find it too much of a faff in the morning. A classic cat eye can look amazing on anyone! I use Collection's fast stroke liquid eyeliner which takes literally seconds to apply and dry. I then apply whatever mascara I happen to have at the time - i'm not really fussed. I usually use whatever i've got free in a goody bag from a blog event! At the moment it's L'oreal volume million lashes.
On to the lips - my favourite thing about life! I can't tell you how much it makes me sad to see girls not making the most of their face with bold lipsticks. Nude lips are my worst enemy and I am a firm believer that lipstick makes an absolutely huge difference to your look! If my lips are feeling dry i'll apply EOS lipbalm first and throughout the day. My current go-to lippy is Mac's "all fired up" - the perfect matte pinky red. I recently tried a nude lip look but don't think i'll ever go back there - I just find bold/bright lipsticks so flattering, and fun since you can create such a different vibe with different colours.

So I hope this answers some of your questions and maybe inspires you to try a new lip shade, or draw on a power brow!
