I was super lucky to be flown over to Copenhagen, Denmark, with a group of other bloggers; for the launch event of X by Trollbeads - an amazing new concept by the original "bead on a bracelet" brand, founded in 1976. We had a whole day to explore the city before heading to the event the following morning. I've never been to Denmark or anywhere near it before - it is so beautiful! I love architecture and traditional buildings so it was such a treat for me.

We stayed in the stunning 71 Nyhavn hotel which overlooked the river & harbour. I was up in a loft room so the views from my room were just amazing!

After exploring the city all day, we went for dinner with the entire Trollbeads team at the owners restaurant, Tribeca NV, where we were greeted with a champagne and canape reception. We felt so fancy! The restaurant was decorated just to my taste - mismatching tables and chairs, and artwork everywhere by local upcoming artists, which I thought was pretty cool. The meal gave us a chance to get to know the team, as we were all split up and dotted around the tables.
Gorgeous views at night time from my window. I sat there for about half an hour just looking out!

Day 2...

I had no idea what the dress code would be, so I went with my lovely ASOS printed skirt suit as I wanted to look a bit smart. (I'm selling it here if you're interested!) Turns out I was a bit over dressed but who cares, i'm always over dressed! The Trollbeads HQ was the most amazing building (with so many floors, we were all so out of breath after walking all the way to the roof terrace!) with stunning views over the city. The interior was very modern but with traditional touches, like antique furniture and rugs.

The blogger gang - Amy, Louisa, me, Sarah, Sheree, Tilly, Amy, Becca & Remi (typical me pose right there)
We were given a tour of the HQ, yummy cocktails, and a chance to interview the designers. So about the collection... it is an entirely new concept based on the basic anchor link bracelet, except the designers have developed a very smart way of adding/removing/switching around links with the "X" shaped openings, which means it is completely customisable to suit your taste/style. It was all about "unexpected combinations" - we had a chance to play around with the links and there are so many possible combinations, with links and charms available in gold, silver, bronze and black rubber, all at different price points.

We were then treated to a beautiful dinner - with "unexpected combinations" being the theme of the collection, the dinner reflected that and it was very Heston Blumenthal-esque! I never thought i'd eat mushrooms, salt and pepper in a dessert, but it turned out to be really delicious which was crazy!
After dinner we were whisked off to the flagship store just down the road, where we were treated to yet more canapes, cocktails and a DJ to set the mood. Downstairs was like a little museum where you could look back in time at previous collections from the very beginning of Trollbeads. It's mad to think that the beaded bracelets we see everywhere today were first invented by Trollbeads back in the 70's! I couldn't imagine them being around then.

So a huuuuge thank you to the team at Trollbeads and Ogilvy PR for such a fabulous couple of days. I had such a great time and definitely want to visit Copenhagen again one day!
